Telugu actor Allu Arjun has been remanded to 14 days in judicial custody following his arrest on Friday afternoon in connection with last week’s stampede at a Hyderabad theatre. The tragic incident led to the death of a woman and left her nine-year-old son injured. A plea by the actor to postpone his arrest until Monday was dismissed by the court.
Earlier in the day, Allu Arjun was taken into custody from his residence in Jubilee Hills and escorted to the Chikkadpally Police Station. The actor reportedly expressed displeasure, alleging that the police entered his bedroom during the arrest. His father, renowned filmmaker Allu Arvind, along with other family members, was present at the time.
The Hyderabad Police have filed a case against the 41-year-old star, members of his security team, and the management of Sandhya Theatre for their alleged roles in the unfortunate incident.
