The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to release the examination schedule for classes 10 and 12 in December, although an official date has not been confirmed. The board exams for the 2025 session are set to begin on February 15 and conclude by April. A separate schedule for practical exams will be issued, with Class 10 practicals conducted by school teachers and Class 12 practicals overseen by external examiners.
In 2024, the exam schedule was released on December 12, with practical exams for classes 10 and 12 held between January 1 and February 14, and for winter-bound schools from November 14 to December 14, 2023. The board exams in 2024 ran from February 15 to April 2, and the results were declared on May 13, followed by supplementary exams from July 15 to July 22.
For the upcoming exams, CBSE has introduced mandatory Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) monitoring in schools designated as examination centres. About 44 lakh students across India and 26 other countries are expected to participate in the 2025 exams, with approximately 8,000 schools serving as centres.
To streamline the submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) for the 2024-25 exams, CBSE has issued circulars on September 4 and 12, 2024, along with a set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). These FAQs aim to help schools submit the necessary data accurately and punctually, addressing common queries and improving the process.
