Five Indian students selected for Rhodes scholarship 2025




After a rigorous application process and two rounds of preliminary interviews, five Indian scholars have been selected as Rhodes Scholars-Elect for 2025. The shortlisted finalists underwent final interviews, resulting in the selection of these outstanding individuals for one of the world’s most prestigious scholarships.


The winners are Rayan Chakrabarti, Vibha Swaminathan, Avanish Vats, Shubham Narwal, and Pal Aggarwal.

The Rhodes Scholarship is a highly sought-after award that provides recipients the opportunity to pursue fully funded postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford. These scholars will join a global cohort of over a hundred students in October 2025 to embark on this transformative academic journey.

Based at the University of Oxford, it has been awarded to five Indian scholars annually since 1947. Open to students worldwide, the scholarship aims to identify young leaders who demonstrate academic excellence, exceptional character, leadership qualities, and a commitment to addressing global challenges.

The selection process is comprehensive and demanding, with candidates undergoing a detailed review and final interviews conducted by a panel of experts and leaders from diverse fields.


Next Steps for ScholarsThe selected scholars will begin their postgraduate studies at Oxford in October 2025, joining a cohort of over 100 talented individuals from across the globe.
