MS Dhoni Scripts History, Achieves Never-Done-Before IPL Feat




MS Dhoni etched his name in the history books by becoming the first wicket-keeper to take 150 catches in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The landmark moment came during the 2025 IPL clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Punjab Kings (PBKS), when the former India captain caught Nehal Wadhera off R Ashwin’s bowling in the 8th over of PBKS’ innings. Wadhera mistimed his shot, and Dhoni completed a comfortable catch to reach the milestone.

Dinesh Karthik follows Dhoni on the list with 137 catches to his name.

Priyansh Arya Smashes Maiden IPL Century as Punjab Kings Post 219/6

In the same match, young opener Priyansh Arya lit up the evening with his first-ever IPL century, powering Punjab Kings to a formidable 219/6. Arya, a product of the Delhi Premier League, showcased explosive batting with a blistering 103 off just 42 balls, including seven fours and nine sixes. He reached his century in only 39 balls — the fifth fastest in IPL history.

The record for the fastest IPL hundred still belongs to Chris Gayle, who reached the milestone in just 30 balls back in 2013.

Supporting Arya’s onslaught, Shashank Singh contributed an unbeaten 52 off 36 balls, while Marco Jansen added a quickfire 34* from 19 deliveries to give PBKS a strong finish.
